We’re hiring a new Barber!

Donnelly’s, established in 2021, has grown to be a thriving barber shop based in the heart of Lewisham. We are very excited to be looking for a new Barber to join our team as we grow our business to the next level.

More than anything else we get told how welcoming and friendly our Barbers are so we are looking for someone who not only enjoys their work but also enjoys meeting new people and upselling products and services as part of their day in the shop.

Donnelly’s is all about creating a warm and welcoming space where clients can book a haircut like you would in a Salon and enjoy a drink whilst you wait to be seen. It’s as much about the experience as it is the skill set for us.

We’re on the search for a high energy individual, that lives for customer service, upselling in house products and services and enjoys being part of a team that is going from strength to strength. What we’re really looking for here is someone willing to learn custom service in a completely new way, we’ve got the frameworks here for you.

This is a full time position (40 hours per week), ideally we’re looking for candidates with 5+ years of experience in the hair industry. However there is some flexibility if we believe you are the right candidate for this role – send your application for review.

More about your daily tasks & responsibilities:
Welcome clients warmly and maintain a professional, friendly atmosphere
Conduct consultations to understand client preferences and recommend suitable styles, services and products to suit the clients needs
Perform a wide range of barbering services, including:
Haircuts (classic and modern styles)
Beard shaping and trimming
Hot towel shaves and straight razor work
Hair washing
Hair styling and finishing
Upsell additional services such as beard treatments or premium shaves
Recommend and sell retail grooming products to suit individual client needs
Rebook clients for future appointments to encourage return visits and build loyalty
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with walk-in clients when needed
Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the day
Actively take part in team training sessions
Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and products
Handle client feedback professionally to ensure customer satisfaction
Support team members and contribute to a positive shop environment
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
Maintain salon cleanliness
Team 1-1’s and target

You must have the ability to commute/relocate:
Lewisham – Ladywell: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Easily accessible via trains and DLR services to Lewisham and Ladywell train stations which connect to London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charring Cross Station, The Windrush Line via the Overground to Brockley connects stations New Cross, Canada Water, Shoreditch, Dalston and Whitechapel and Crofton Park Train Station is a 15 minute walk a way which connects Nunhead, Peckham, St Pancras, London Bridge and London Victoria
Experience:
Shop Floor: 5 years (preferred)
Hairdressing / Barbering: 5 years (preferred)
